Heating Tune Up Checklist

  • Measure the voltage and current on motors
  • Check system cycles to assure the system starts, operates, and shuts off correctly
  • Check all gas (or oil) connections, as well as the pressure and heat exchanger
  • Check controls of the system to look for safety issues and proper operation
  • Tighten all electrical connections is they are loose
  • Lubricate all moving parts
  • Test and Inspect Complete Heat Cycle
  • Test and Inspect all Electrical Elements
  • Test, Inspect and Clean Burners (If Required)
  • Test and Inspect High Limit
  • Test and Inspect All Safety Controls
  • Test and Inspect Motor’s
  • Test, Inspect, Clean & Adjust Pilot Assembly/Thermocouple (If Required)
  • Test and Inspect Check Flue Pipe & Draft
  • Test and Inspect Capacitors
  • Monitor Compressor for Proper Amperage, Voltages and Wiring Connections (HP)
  • Test and Inspect Blower Wheels
  • Test and Inspect Fan Blades (HP)
  • Test and Inspect Contactors
  • Test and Inspect Ignitors
  • Test, Inspect and Clean Flame Sensors
  • Test and Inspect Operating Controls
  • Test and Inspect Refrigerant Operation (HP) Inspect Heat Exchanger
  • Inspect Fuse/Breaker Assembly
  • Inspect for Gas Leaks
  • Lubricate all Moving Parts (where applicable)
  • Inspect Air Filters (Clean in applicable)
  • Inspect Drain Pan for Build Up
  • Flush out Drain Line and Check for proper draining (AHU)
  • Inspect for Proper Temperature Rise
  • Adjust Burner (If Required
  • Adjust Gas Pressure (If Required)
  • Inspect for Carbon Monoxide
  • Inspect Smoke Detectors

  • Clean condenser air conditioning coils.
  • Check/inspect the condensate drain.
  • Check thermostat settings to save energy.
  • Test & Inspect Complete Air Conditioning Cycle
  • Lubricate all Moving Parts (where applicable)
  • Test and Inspect Refrigerant Operation
  • Test and Inspect Capacitors
  • Test and Inspect Safety Controls
  • Inspect Filters (Clean if applicable)
  • Test and Inspect Blower Motor
  • Clean Condenser Coil/Remove Debris (if applicable)
  • Inspect Electrical for Exposed Wiring
  • Test/Inspect Contactors for Burned, Pitted Contacts
  • Inspect Service Valves for Proper Operation
  • Test and Inspect Condenser Fan Motor
  • Test and Inspect Blower Wheels and Fan Blades
  • Test and Inspect Operating Controls
  • Inspect Drain Pan for Build Up
  • Test and Inspect Safety Devices
  • Flush out Drain Line and Check for proper draining
  • Tighten all Electrical Connections
  • Inspect Disconnect Box for proper rating and installation
  • Inspect for Proper Temperature Drop
